Hey guys,
I was looking at my tank the past few weeks and started noticing a few orange zooanthids were in different places every day. I thought maybe the powerheads were blowing them around. I was doing a water change and moved the rocks a bit and the fell off and started crawling! Turns out it's a little green crab with a few zoos growing on it. He seems harmless so I put him back in the tank. Just now i was moving more rocks around and found a small black and white crab. These guys are both small and look really cool. The only problem is that they have sharp pinchers. I've heard that crabs with sharp pinchers are bad for a reef tank, but they seem harmless. Would it be a bad idea to keep them in there or should I take them both out? thanks for any replies!

sounds like decorator crabs. they will not eat corals with their sharp pinchers, but they can take some and put them on their backs for camoflauge as you have witnessed. som people like them, but others dont like them messing up their tank. they will also put spounges, macro algae, and just about anythign else on their backs as well as your corals.
