Cool looking tanks

Wow.. I think I saw some of these at my costco about 2 months ago, they look amazing up in your face lol.

SWEET , OMG , NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOPS, EDIT: I would hate to have to maintain one of those bad boys :(

They use the word "FISHES", next to a slide show of some random SW fish. Hate to be the grammar police, but come on, they want 4500$+ for one of these. Plus the fake coral in their pics.

Like most commercial advertisements the tanks look great, more so becasue they give the impression of being suspended like a TV screen. But even though it is acrylic at 100 gallons their 5 foot long tank still weighs about 1/2 ton when full.

You can bet this would require some serious ceiling reinforcement. The only exception would be if the were hung in the corners or in the hallways where simple to install reinforcement beams could be straddled between walls.

Even so this would only mean easier carpet cleaning and not necessarily saved space and in fact could be a head space injury issue and not easily serviceable unless you had a floored attic with trap doors.

All-in-all very impressive looking for guest but frankly doable with any tank. But unless the home is custom designed to accept such a suspended set up i.e overhead access or motorized lowering cables and winch, it could be more of a real pain then what its worth in impressions IMO.

FYI, Price : $8400 give or take a few hundred depending on the length size between 5' to 8'. I think I could suspend all 6 of my tanks the way they would with no winch power (which I would never do) for about $1500. The steel support beams, frame and stainless cables is what would cost, but I would be very-very tempted to use at least a hand winch to lower the tank for servicing add another $1000 expense.

But $8400 for one tank is way out of line for my life style expenses. I wonder if any of them will make their way in the health bill for doctors offices, might as well.

The term is in fact "fishes"...it is used in aquaria publications and references worldwide. Consult your nearest issue of TFH, they use the term all the time.

As to the tanks...wouldn't touch one with a forty foot pole... The things are barely 6" deep. How they expect a fish any larger than a Neon to swim and turn around comfortably in such confines is beyond me.

Typical chic grandiosity for the rich and ignorant...a real aquarist wouldn't even look twice.

actually the 58 is 28" Ht 14" wide and 59" long
relatively close to a 55 std at 48" long X 12" wide X 21" ht
