I just wanted to share this, because I'm so excited. My panda cory fry are 17 days old now, acting very cory-like, and they're starting to lose the finfold and develop real fins! These are the first fry I've ever raised. This picture was taken yesterday.

Great closeup of your panda....cute little bugger...:)

Great shot!

Congrats! How many fry have you got?

Congratulations!!!! I've been raising Sterbai fry, and this is my first try at it as well. I've had great luck with my first batch which consisted of eight eggs, six making it to the fry stage and still kicking. My second batch consisted of 82 eggs, and none made it. I believe this was the first batch for my second female and am wondering if that had anything to do with it. I had also gone from twice daily water changes in the fry tank to only one, so I think that also was a bad mistake on my part. I'm interested to know what you do for these lil critters. What is your water change and feeding routine? I have two Panda Cories as well, but am not sure of their sex....and since they have not laid any eggs I am wondering if they are both male or female! Anyhow, please keep the pics coming...I just love seeing pics of lil fry

Thanks everyone! I have four panda babies at the moment, out of five eggs. I also have seven more eggs that look to hatch in the next day or so. The adults (2 males, 1 female) seem to spawn about every other day, but I haven't been rescuing all the eggs.

I have the fry in a separate small tank, with just a thin layer of river sand and two rocks, one with a tuft of java fern. It's set up with a airstone sponge filter and a heater. I pick the eggs off the Java fern in my main tank and put them in the fry tank to develop. I do daily 50% water changes with vacuuming, and am feeding them microworms and crushed flakes. I feed about three times a day, tiny amounts. I love how their stomachs turn white after eating the microworms, and orange after eating flakes!

sweet! My guppy fry were my first, but I can't wait for something cool to spawn...

My fish are always taunting me. I have a julli and panda together in one tank just for show, but they keep hybridizing. And the eggs are always infertile. Then the eggs deflate. Then my guppies eat them.

Good pic......:)
