cool shrimp

Just curious - all you shrimp keepers, do you have any fish that bother those shrimp?

i have thought about getting some, but figured they would just be an expensive snack for my clown loaches and dwarf cichlids.

Anyone successfully keep shrimp with either of these type of fish?
 
most smaller tetras will not bother the shrimps.

i've kept clown loaches for a good 12 years, and they tend to get feisty with smaller shell animals (think snails). i wouldn't keep them together. dwarf cichlids might be ok if you have a large enough tank to give each their own space, because they will get aggressive once a mate shows up and they begin to breed. rams should be pretty safe, too.

i've taken the photos with the canon s40, a very capable camera which produces pretty good exposures under dim lighting. what's even better would be the canon g2, which can accommodate third party telescopic and macro lenses. i've seen some AMAZING macro shots with that machine. very envious...

I even went to the fish shop to check around for shrimps after the dream...hoping maybe I could fullfil it but no luck.


Awsome! I was hoping to get the Canon A70...would love the G3(which has replaced the G2 this year) but its way out of my budget. I really shouldnt be getting any but I reallyreally want to. ;P
Having Macro lenses would be awsome! Just have to wait till I have a reall good steady job....

Thanks nvisioin - yea, it was the clown loaches that I was worried most about - knowing how they can devoure those snails. I figured they would probably do the same to shrimp - which is why I have been hesitant to try.

My tank is big enough so everyone would have their space - but still . .

Well, I likely won't risk it - unless I find some cheap shrimp at the local fish club annual show auction this weekend
