Can anyone help me...please?
I have a new 350 gal coldwater (mediterranean) reef tank, want to add copepods as I hear they are beneficial. Cant find a supplier here in Italy as I dont know what the look like even, my lfs doesnt know where to find them(bit of a language barrier!). Can someone put up a pic please. If I buy them online will they even survive the journey? Will they be ok living at 55 degrees or are they just for tropical tanks? Maybe I can collect them at sea with a plancton net, but I dont want to go adding nasty critters by mistake...

corinna: this is who I use for the pods. https://livecopepods.com/zencart/ I just ordered and received the value pack 4 bottles. If you e-mail Adelaide she can help with your specific questions. Very high quality and pest/disease free. You get what you pay forin this regard. I got them to seed my fuge. They do ship internationally HTH

Not to worry-- if you added even just trace amounts of natural sea water or, especially, native rock, sand or plants, you already have a number of small crustaceans including copepods in your system.

promise to post pics when I get some help(technophobe). There is some lovely stuff underwater here, but few people with med tanks, most folks here at least keep tropical. Ive got anthias anthias, pagurus anacoretus, actinia aquina, asteroides calycularis, blennius zvonimiri, callista chione, dardanus codidus and a load of stuff still to identify. they are all lovely. Plus got a small tank with an octopus(hes very cool). Noone sells local fish or inverts, all mine is brought to me by the local fishermen or rescued from the nets at the harbour.
