Do I need to take out my charcoal filters when using copper safe?

Wont my tank recycle if I take out the filter media?

what kind of media is in the filter?
what filter do you have?
if the carbon is over 2 weeks old you should be fine.

I have a penguin 280 with a bio wheel and two charchoal inserts. The inserts are both over two weeks old. So i can leave them in?

it can as well as any med. it is best to keep an eye out on the tank parameters.

coppersafe-chelated copper can have residual effects for some time after it has been removed.

I have used it in the past. it is a very effective med. you do need to be aware of the possible effect it has in the tank re leaching meds. and the inhabitants in the futrue.

I have used it and the tank I used it in now houses peppermint shrimp(by accident). keep in mind this tank has had hundreds of water changes in it since..generally I do not advocate using coppersafe in anything other than a hospital tank.

What about products with Malachite green. Would that be more effective for getting rid of Ick.
