Coral Beauty Hole in Head?

We got our Coral Beauty around 6 months ago from Petco (we didn't know about the lfs that we now go to) She always had this "hole" on her head. It did get worse in the first month we had her but now it seems to stay the same. I've always kind of wondered about it so I figured I would see what you all would have to say about it.

It looks like some kind of defect. Not exactly sure though. It cant be some kind of self inflicted wound. It would of healed by now.
 
HEY! I just got the D80 like two days ago!!! I can barely hold it, let alone take a picture :D Its the most confusing piece of technology I've ever used!

I can't exactly tell by the pic but does it look like fin erosion? When I got my Coral Beauty a couple months back it had some (what I call) fin rot spots. It could be HLLE or something like that. It was probably due to the conditions it was in at petco. I don't really know enough about it to comment anymore... maybe some others will chime in.
 
It could well be HLLE. Angels are notoriously susceptible to that. The way it was likely treated at Petco probably exasperated the condition. What are you feeding it? Are you're water param's good?
 
Water Params are good, nitrates are usually 15ish.

We feed those pellets that are like formula one and formula two and frozen enriched brine shrimp and frozen mysis and some seaweed stuff (not home right now to see what its called) that I clip in the tank that everyone usually nibbles at.
 
Not really sure what it is, no disease expert but I do know my Coral Beauty responded well to garlic (treated for internal parasites). Garlic is good for boosting fishes immune function so you could try soaking some of its food in that. I just chop up a fresh garlic clove, soak the garlic in a tablespoon of tank water for 30mins, then soak the food in the garlic water for 30mins and then feed the soaked food. I also fed tiny amounts of fresh minced garlic. Garlic is supposed to work on HLLE if it is that.
