Coral Cat shark tank set up

I currently have a tank with two Cortez rays and I was thinking a coral shark would be a nice addition. But I was wondering if adding in some live rock for decoration was completely necessary. I just don’t want to take away to much space from the rays swimming space.

how big is the tank?

It’s a 110, but it’s a grow out. I plan to either build a plywood aquarium, or indoor pond in the near future.

And the new tank once built will be big enough to have some rock but I would rather avoid it because I had a few pieces with the rays and it just made it harder for them to get food behind it, and one scratched himself a little bit.
