Is it natural for coral to look a little shrivled when i turn the lights off. Is this supposed to happen? During the day they are looking really good, just at night they do not look so good.

yes at night corals will change soft corals will sometimes shrink or shrivle up . some hard corals will let out feeding tentacles or sweeper tentacles as well. and some corals will only truly open at night.

That is VERY natural, yes.

As long as your corals look very open and healthy during the day, they're probably doing fine. Make sure to have a consistent schedule of lighting in your tank by using timer.

I have no timer yet but i keep the lighting on for 7 hours a day. When i turn the lights on i check the time and then turn them off 7 hours later.

that works fine just make sure u get one if you wont be around to watch the lights.
