Coral Keepers 28 gallon Nano-Cube HQI diary.

I'm building the rock up to how I want it right now.

I see a post about a mushroom takeover in your future.... :lipssealedsmilie: Kidding! LOVE the rock, that is awesome. I have stuff similar to that spongey bit you were asking about and I'm sure it's sponge. It's looking great! I'm a subscriber! :grinyes:

The rock looks great! My LFS would have sold the shroom alone for 15$ much less the rock!

Here are a few pictures of the tank. The water is still a bit cloudy and the rocks are covered with the white powder that came from the sand, I'll post a few more pictures in a few days when the rocks are going to be clean and the water clear.

Looks good. Any way I can convince you to use a flatter, more squat rock for the apex of your 'scape? You'll be happier with a lower structure, since it allow for corals to grow upward and fill in that space.

Thanks! Maybe. lol

Well, it's your tank, so just take it as a suggestion. The aquascape looks great now, it's just that that may help you in the long run, practicality-wise (as opposed to strict aestheticism). Play around with the idea. Remember, you want corals to fill in the space over time, not have rock fill up that potential space immediately (as tempting as it may be).

Actually, now that I think of it, why not take a flatter (not flat, just flattER instead of the other one) and offset it slightly to the right side. That gives you a nice-looking, asymmetric aquascape that you don't see terribly often.
