As thin as that stuff is you could have doubles it and made the openings even smaller. I wonder if regular fiberglass window screen would have been ok.

ya, I would definately double up on the mesh to overlap and make the holes smaller if your biggest concern is jumping gobies. Most gobies will jump right through that stuff or will jump out the gap in the front. At some point though you will have to weigh how much light is going to be lost by the screen that will affect all your corals vs trying to save a $20 fish from jumping. I think a piece of egg crate would work better and you would be able to notch it out so it would work with the bowfront.

I didn't have any more of the mesh left, so I could only do 1 layer. The regular fiberglass window screen takes away like 25%-50% of the light, so that's pretty much why I didn't use regular fiberglass window screen. The egg crate will be taking away more light that the plastic mesh I have right now.
