What does coral do to the water of a freshwater tank? :dive:

coral disolves calcium carbonate into the water at a very slow rate. calcium carbonate is not particularly soluable.

it will slowly raise the KH of the tank, and theoretically raise the pH into the high 7's (~7.8 in my experience).

I have man made coral which is neutral, and looks like the real thing. Not sure how they did it.
