Hey there, I recently set up a 10 gal planted tank w/ 2x incandescent hood, then bought some cheap 13w compact fluorescents for it. My plants are doing ok, but I think changing to better bulbs would help. Any Ideas? I've read about the Coralife 50/50 and Colormax, which one would be better for my tank? Thanks a bunch,

Well the Coralife 50/50

— Colormax - 6700K Power Compact Lamp will be the best choice, good punch on the blue spectrum for plants and in the red, and green (visible) light to see what’s happening in there.

Should be an off to trigger photosynthesis anyway. Go to around 25 or 30 watt

Use a timer, and you better with two lamps on different timer to imitate low sun and high sun an this setup give you the possibility to dose exactly the amount of light.

11-12 hours a day

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking the 50/50 would be too blue. The Colormax is 6500K(i think) , so i'll go with that. Thanks again.
