Sup everyone?

Can someone please tell me why I have a TON of Coralline algae on glass but none on me live rock? About 8 months ago I bought some very big "cleaner snails", the guy at the reef store told me that they would do a better job cleaning than the regular turbo's. Could it be that they are doing to much of a good job on my rock?

thanks,
Ray

BTW, I USED TO have purple Coralline algae on my rocks. I will post some before and after pics as soon as I get em online.

What type of lighting do you have on the tank?
I've seen a few tanks lit by MHs that had no coralline algae on the majority of the rocks even after the tank had been running for a couple years. It only grew on the shaded side of some of the rocks and on the glass in a limited number of areas. The thought was that the lighting must have been too intense compared to what the coralline liked to have.

I retract my statement, that is not what is happening.

I just spent 3 hours cleaning up and I noticed that there is indeed coralline on my rocks as well, the problem is, it is covered with a dark browm/black substance. This stuff is all over my sand as well.

Maybe time to upgrade my cleaning crew? I have a 125 gallon with roughly 20 hermits and 20 snails...what do you recomend?

thanks,
Ray

Here are some pics. Pardon the crappy camera and cloudy water (just finished cleaning it)
