i have had my 30g running for about 7-8 months. I am finally going to be able to add some corals with the new lighting i have just ordered. its a "Nova Extreme" T-5 24'' 96w with lunar lights.

The tank specs...
-16'' deep.
-2 400 gph power heads
-40 pounds LR

Stock
-Purple Stripe dottyback
-scooter blenny
-percula clown
-clean up crew

-I would like to know a brief, or very detailed generalization of what i can keep in the tank (Corals)

-What i should know about Corals

-What i need to keep them? i only test for the basics, ammonia/trates/trites/salinity/PH.... what else do i need to be aware of and test for

-any good links to a site i can research Corals

-how much, cheapest and most expensive corals as well as easiest and hardest!

Thanks!

Wow....very broad questions there, and not that many specific answers can be given, but more of a generalisation..

You can keep any low to medium lighting / flow soft corals....

What should you know about corals? Everything....their habitat, their lighting requirements, there feeding needs, their compatibility with other corals in close proximity....

What do you need to keep them? Well, each coral has its own specific needs.. The common need is good water quality and parameters. As your now venturing into corals, i would suggest you purchase a calcium, alk , and mag test kits as all these are needed in my opinion when tending to a reef system...

Plenty of good links for corals....

www.wetwebmedia.com ;)
www.marinedepotlive.com
www.liveaquaria.com

to name a few.....

Cost wise, i'll leave that to people who live in your country....hope this helps a little...
