WOW!!!
For my birthday I found my fish guy. Thanks TwoTankAmin for pointing me to FishNut2. I took on Rich's invitation for a 30 minute tour of his fish room. After two turns off I-55, I parked my car in a nice, safe residential neighborhood. I ended up staying for at least four hours picking, discussing different types of fish, and ways of setting up my fish room. I do believe him when he says he has 40 years of fish knowledge, and he is very kind in sharing it. No question is too 'stupid' for him, and he talks to you in a non-condescending manner. I felt like he really wants me to succeed in raising and breeding the fish I picked. Here is the list I purchased:
20 otos, 6 adolfoi cory, 10 marbled hatchet fish, colony of albino ruby, 2 brown BN, 4 albino BN, 10 aspidoras pauciradiatus, 4 whiptails, 4 banjos, assortment of guppies, and bunch of small tanks.
Planning to purchase from Rich after I set up my 125 gal. the following fish:
- 50 cardinals and 50 green neons. I always wonder why people buy 500 neon or cardinals. After seeing Rich's tanks of 1,000+ neon, cardinals, and green neon school together (healthy, eating and fully colored), it is a sight to see.
- 20 rummy nose
- 30 red belly piranhas for another tank
- breeding pair of convects
- 3 more banjos
- 6 panda cory
If you are relatively close to Midway airport, and for me I drive 5 hours annually to Wet Thumb in Michigan, Rich is definitely a person to visit for healthy, reasonably priced fish.
Thanks Rich, the fishes are acclimating well in my tanks.
