I feel bad for all the hard work my albino cories go though to make batch after batch of eggs only to see them get eaten by my glass shimp. I was thinking about getting a breeding tank. Would a ten gallon be large enough for the 3 corries to breed in? They always lay thier eggs on the glass so I figure scraping them off the glass to transfer to rearing tank would be a bad idea. If I put the three cories in the ten gallon and after they breed remove them then the babies will be predator free. Question, can there be gravel in the breeding tank? How do you catch the fish after the spawn without disrupting the eggs? I am looking to raise them and give them to a local pet store. After the 10 gallon what will I need for a grow out tank? After they lay eggs are you supposed to put medication in the tank to fend off fungus? Is that necessary, if so what should I use?

if i were you - put the parents in a tank, when they spawn, remove the parents and put them back, put in some baby brine shimp when they hatch, Not sure aboiut fungas issue

When my cories spawned I did not use any meds. I just put the eggs into a small rubbermaid container filled with tank water for about 2 weeks with no losses, then I moved the fry to a 2.5 minibow and after about a month they are all still alive. Cories are very slow growers so it will be a while before you can take them to the store. I also recommend putting in java moss that has been in the main tank for a while, as the fish will eat the organisms that are growing in this.

About 6 months before they are sellable size.
