Cories laid eggs again

They went into a mating frenzy this morning. My female still looks kinda fat, maybe egg-laying will resume in a bit. The only ones the angels hadn't eaten were ones that were laid on the filter intake. As soon as I turned the filter off, the half-black one (by far the most bloodthirsty and aggressive "Spunky") went for them but I shooed him away and set up the net breeder. In the past i hadn't messed with the eggs for fear of damaging them, but they turned out to be quite tough. I used my finger to get them off (they're sticky too) and put them into the breeder. Don't want to dose the whole tank to prevent fungus, but the net is in the flow of a 20g filter so the eggs should get enough aeration and circulation to be okay. I guess we'll see!

I just added two more cories a couple days ago, and the tank is only a couple weeks old, so they must be pretty happy in their new home. I wonder if she got the hots for one of the new cories, or if she stuck with her old mate?
 
Sounds great. My female stopped laying eggs this past year so I haven't had the excitment of seeing her all plump and round for awhile. Kind of sad.
 
My 4 albino cories have laid eggs 2 weeks in a row. Each time it was 2 days after a 50% water change. Both batches yielded 60-70 babies. I too, put the eggs in a net breeder in front of my HOB filter to take advantage of the circulation. I used a credit card to transfer the eggs from the back glass to the net breeder and put some java moss in the breeder. Only had 10 or so eggs develop fungus. First batch counts about 40 and are now 11 days old and growing like crazy. I transferred them from the net breeder to a 10 gallon tank 3 days after they hatched. 2nd batch of fry are 4 days old and I transferred them to 2 different 10 gallon red cherry shrimp tanks.

she is still spawning. . . wow. if she were a human female she'd remember this day for the rest of her life, and use it to guilt trip her bad children.

I have three green corys, and looking to buy a fourth. Now I wonder what sex I have. It would be interesting to witness the 'mating ritual,' but no sparks so far; so maybe I have all males? Of course, if something were to go down, as it were, I would be praying for another fish to eat the eggs, since I have no place to move the fry. Still, it would be interesting to see. They are such happy little fish and a lot of fun, especially when in a shoal ;)

Now that I think about it, the water may be to warm for such activities. I usually try and keep it a steady 78 degrees for the betta.
 
Just a few tips- for spaning more males than females helps insure most if not all eggs get fertilized.

Net breeders are not great idea as other fish will often try and suck egg contents out through the net.

Corys spawn over some time- the fm takes a few eggs between her fins and then deposits them after the male fertilizes them, this process can go on for some time.

The eggs can be handled about an hour after deposited- they just need to firm up some first.
