I have a 29G with 6 zebra danios and 4 dwarf gouramis..planning on adding a school of 6 more turqoiuse danios and 2 german blue rams..what kind cories should i get that would work well with those tank parameters?

I'm not sure about rams, but sometimes the combination of south american dwarf cichlids and cories doesn't go well.

Hi,

Well, there are many different kinds of Cories. It really depends on what pattern or color you like. In my opinion some of the best Cories are Three-Striped Cories (Corydoras trilineatus), Panda Cories (Corydoras panda), Peppered Cories (Corydoras paleatus), and Bronze Cories (Corydoras aeneus). All of them are pretty and relitively easy to keep.

You should probably avoid panda cories, because the black spots might make them the target of aggression.

My Bolivian Rams don't display any aggression towards my Cories (not sure if German Rams have a different personality though). My personal fave are Julii Corys, some say they aren't as hardy as Bronze or Peppered Cories but I've never had any problems with them.

If you are worried about them being picked on you may consider green cories - they are a little bit bigger (3-4 inches) and more robust in my experience. You may be pushing the bioload with that, though.
