1.) A long time ago (in a far away land... j/k), I bought two Peppered Cories (Corydoras paleatus) from Petco. And recently one of them died, so I went out to buy a small group of new friends for the lonely Cory. Well, they didn't sell Peppered Cories anymore but had Spotted Cories (Corydoras agassizii) and I bought some. But now that they've colored up, they look just like my old Cory. So, what do I have (what was labeled wrong)?:
The big one is my original Cory
More of the new Cories
2.) One of the new Cories I bought has an eye that looks like it has glaucoma covering it. Do fish get glaucoma? If not, what else could it be? And the fish seems to be healthy and active otherwise, but will the loss of vision (because I can't imagine it can see out of that one eye) in one eye be detrimental to it in the long run?
3.) A LFS is clearing out a large tank of assorted Cories (Panda, Adolfoi, Julii, Aeneus and I bunch I don't recognize) for $1/ea to make room for new stock. I wanted to pick up a few of the Cories but the tank they're in is very disgusting and in bad condition (poor water quality, overcrowded, some dead fish, etc). So, I was wondering if Cories were hardy enough to live in such deplorable conditions that if I bought some they'd actually have a chance of surviving quarantine and being introduced to my tanks? Or is it more likely that they're going to be sick and die off even once removed from the LFS?
Anyway, thanks for any comments, advice, etc!
