Dapple2, well my cory doesn't look like any of them that u mention, but i find one that could be..... is Corydoras melanistius but mine looks like it but without spots..... could mine be so how related to Corydoras melanistius?

Sure could be! There's a buncha "spotted corys" out there. They are always mucking about with cory classifications, lol. Keep poking about Planet Catfish and check the links section for some more good sites.

Tank stocking is a highly variable art. There's a whole lot more factors involved that people don't really consider, like planting levels, compatibility, general cleanliness level, etc. I stock many of my tanks far higher than what many conservative types would recommend myself. Might possibly have something to do with that same college limit on tank size thingy too... For example, in my three Eclipse 6's: tank a has nine zebra danios, 6 ringed loaches and a flying fox (who will get moved eventually, once I get offa these darn crutches); tank b has around 25 Endler's livebearers (you try telling the lil buggers not to breed lol); and tank c has a pair of Aphyosemion striatum. The same pattern is evident in my other tanks too lol. Just some food for thought...

after a long search i finally know what's my "spotted cory", the sci. name is corydoras virginiae.....i still dun get why they are call "spotted cory" because they have to spots on them.....
