Thank you all for the advice, I really appreciate it. And I've been wondering what kind of filter to use in my little 5 gal. I think the box filter would be perfect. I think I may turn that tank into my hospital/quarantine tank.
That's a great idea. If I were you I would stick and extra piece of sponge or filter floss in your primary tanks filter system at all times. Then when you need a quaretine tank setup you just take that filter floss out and stick it in the box filter for an instant cycle.
Don't reintroduce the floss of course to the old tank but put a new piece in or any disease or meds could follow it back.
