Hi,

I just bought 6 cory's recently from a good LFS but after bringing them home and tanking them (going through the normal process of adding them to a tank) and after a few days I realized that one of them had a white film over one eye and a damaged lip. I thought it was a fungal problem so I've been treating with Pimafix for 3 days and have seen no improvement. Here's a picture. Anyone have any opinions about this? Thanks.

We'll skip the lecture on why you should ALWAYS quarantine new fish in a quarantine tank.
Your circles are nice, but I'll have to let someone else guess fungus or bacterial.
One treatment would be to catch the fish in a fine mesh catfish net, so you don't snag a barbel or spine, and try to gently wipe it off with a Q-tip that has been dipped in hydrogen peroxide.

Now the diagnostics.
What size tank do you have?
How crowded is it?
What are your water parameters?
Did you follow the directions on the bottle of Primafix?

My first suspect for a cause would be ammonia.
My second suspect for a cause would be a large mesh net was used to catch it and a barbel got caught and damaged.

As to Primafix, Aquarium Pharmaceuticals says it can be "combined with Melafix to enhance effectiveness against fish diseases."

Good luck.

NO nets on corys required. Just chase them into clear rectangular plastic container and scoop it out if one must.

Cant tell for sure from one pic. More shots and vid possible?

As posted on many threads, I dont have much confidence on Mel/Pima.
