Well as some of ya'll know that after the big ice storm I lost everything that was in my 29gl long tank. I have redid the decor like I wanted to and now comes all those stocking questions. (I do have a guppy and ghost shrimp in it right now to keep it cycled.)

It is a planted tank with driftwood that has plenty of little caves and tunnels for bottom dwellers to hide under.
I would like to get some khulis, (Corydoras trilineatus) leopard catfish, and some (Brochis splendens) emerald corys for the bottom. I will also have shrimp in this tank.

Is that to much for the bottom?
How many of each could I get and them be happy?

Still trying to figure out what is going to be my mid and top water dweller. Any suggestions would be welcomed, just remeber I do have shrimp and I know that it is heavily plants but I know some fish go lurking for a tasty shrimp snack.

:help: There are so many things that I want but so many that I know that I can't have.

I'm so sorry for your loss

I know EXACTLY what you went through :(

I only know about the Brochis. I have 4 and I think they would be better with at least one more. I am switching my tanks around and putting my cories in my larger tank and getting a coulple of more Brochis to even out the herd in the 40 gallon. :)

I've kept kuhlis & corys together in a 20 long, 8 loaches & 5 c. loxozonus. They were fine for space but the wild caught corys were a bit nervous so I moved them. I think the brochis might be a bit bulky in a 30 x 12 inch tank to have a group with corys & kuhlis. Big brochis are BIG fish.

I'd do a bigger group of corys & skip the big cats

The loaches are wild caught too but if you get at least 6 & have lots of hiding spots & plants they're not too shy. I've heard the black P. oblongas are more outgoing than striped ones but I don't know, I have semicintas (or maybe p.kuhli). Probably like all things fishy, your mileage may vary.

Brochis are cool, my lfs had 2 of the lesser seen species but I have to say they all look similar to my untrained eye. Someday...

I have both. No problems.
