What about tahitian moon sand? I like it alot but I don't know if it's too sharp for corys. Also I for got to mention that i put a fertilizer kinda sand that i got from petco (which was pretty dumb I'm sure) and it's also kinda sharp I think. I don't remember what it's called but that may also have something to do with it. I'm gonna redo it all tonight. Sand is expensive though but it'll be worth it
I'm not sure it's due to the gravel being sharp. I have had various types of gravel some sharp & rough, & some like moon rock candy like - & never had a prob with their barbels. always had albino corys.
but not until now in my angel tank which is essentially bare bottom. I think it had to be my water conditions were not very good & either bacteria or fungal agents attacked them all. funny thing my angels were not in the least affected by my cory break out.
I tried pimafix & melafix but that didn't save them. boy, was I ever bummed!
