I have question about different types of corys. I currently have two Emerald corys and want to add a few more since I know with them the more the better. So my question is can corys be mixed as far as the types of corys kept together, and also if they are different types will they still benefit from the fact that there will be a small group of them but not the same exact type? Thanks for any help.

Yea, for the most part they mix and match pretty well. I've had albinos and emeralds and they didn't seem to notice any difference.

They can be mixed, but generally prefer there own kind. If you want to mix them, and have the tank space, get at least one more emerald cory and then three or more of another kind.
What Jenny said. Corys will shoal and play with other kinds of corys, but really like the same type a bit better. Unlike Jenny, I've had good luck with plain pairs, at least when one is male and one female. But it's almost impossible to be sure of their gender until you see them together. If you have two corys of the same kind, and the smaller one keeps following the bigger one around, the smaller is probably a male, and the larger the female. IF that's the combination, the pair works well. If not, three or four are probably better.
