Cost of Guppies

If I plan on letting them breed for feeding to larger fish.

Is it worth it to spend extra to get the fancy vs feeder?
(planned like 3 female 2 male)

Feeders are normally week or are deformed and can carry infections, if you are breeding to feed them to your fish get some nice healthy one's to start of with then you should end up with healthy feeder fish. Im using my covict fry as feeders at the moment its the best way to keep things under control.

Wow Guppies are $2 for one and $3 for a pair here..

That must be a specific fancy breed being sold. You can usually pick up common fancy guppies for 2 to 3 bucks each, and they make pretty feeders. Geneticly pure guppies go for more, because breeders need them for specific breeding programs, so they cost more. Go for a few cheap guppies instead, and breed your own semi fancy feeders.

:iagree: Show-quality guppies are very expensive so it is not surprising if those guppies turned out to be quite more elegant than most strains seen.
