WCMM are indeed extinct in the wild, that's their official conservation status.

They aren't from India or Signapore, they're from China, and I believe Vietnam as well.

They don't cost much, I've seen them around the $1-2 range. The long-fin variety (usually goes by the name of Meteor Minnow) are much higher.

I work at Petsmart, and was able to find one gold white cloud . Trying to breed the strain at home with normal white clouds.

10 cents at an lfs near me, sold as feeders. they are healthy fish though, i've bought 35 of them 6-7 months ago and they are all still with me (alive, yes)

adults @ .99cents at petsmart in sacramento area.
small (feeders) @ .25c at FishPlanet.

the gold ones are more expensive. and i haven't seen any long finned WC.

Ya gold ones are expensive and long finned seems to be extinct from markets.

But seeing my Petsmart doesn't sell the gold version, it was $0.99. .
