Could I add another?

I was planning on adding another angelfish to my tank after my cycle was established but I'd like a second (or even third, fourth, or fifth lol) opinion before I do so. My cycle is now established (ammonia 0 ppm, nitrite 0 ppm, nitrate 5 ppm) and you can see what is currently in the tank in my sig. I will be adding 2 more yo yo's as soon as the LFS gets some more in. I'm probably going to add 2-3 more von rio's as well.

The angel that I have now is still quite small by angel standards, measuring no more than 2.5-3 inches from the tip of its "nose" to the end of its tail. I'd be adding one close to that size.

I think you could add one. However, you should watch out that your neons don't start disappearing - angels will eat them. Don't add more than one, as they get big (2 adult angels will have about the same bioload as all the other fish in there). Also yes, the new angel would need to be a similar size. Be prepared to move one if they start fighting.

I'm aware that neons are the natural prey of angels and so far I haven't seen the angel show any aggression toward the neons at all. My neons are what Petsmart sells as "jumbo" neon tetras and I've noticed that the neons at the other LFS sells are MUCH smaller so I'm wondering if the difference in size has anything to do with the angel leaving the neons alone.

Yep, what fballguy said. The jumbo's are just full grown neons. The others are juvies. Your angel willl get big enough to eat them eventually, probably not for a few months. He probably wont bother them until they will fit into his mouth. They are just expensive snackies ;)

I agree completely. Just because the neons won't fit in their mouths now doesn't mean they won't later :) You can look at it this way, when your angels do decide to go after the neons it'll just lighten the bio-load so you can buy more fish ;)

There are instances where angel fish are raised with neons in the tank and they are all fine together. There are also instances where they are fine for a year or two and then all of a sudden they disapear but look at it this way there only a buck so if they get eaten then you angel had a healthy snack and your not out to much money.

Now you should be fine with another angel provided that you don't want up makeing a pair. If this happens they will kill or bully most of the tank inhabitants when they attempt to breed.
