I have an aqualight 130 watt power compact. It has a 65 watt 10,000k and a 65 watt actinic light. Can I switch the actinic to some other light or do I have to continue to use the actinic?
thanks

Within reason, it depends on what you like looking at. 6700-10000 Kelvin will give your corals more usable light than actinics, but I like the look that actinics give. They still provide usable light, just not quite as much.
A 50/50 might work nicely. It would give a little more PAR, and still add a little actinic to get some glow.
WRT to the amount of light, yes and no. If you are trying to grow a lot of soft corals, LPS and easier SPS, then it will be fine. Acropora and crocea clams will want more light.
I want a clam but my tank is too small. I want an open brain coral, xenia, trumpet and things like that. So 130 will be fine? thanks for the help.
