Everything I have read says Siamese Algae Eaters have never been bred in a aquarium. That said, I watched 2 of my 3 SAE's doing some very unusual behavior today. First thing that got my attention was their normally black stripes had gone silver as they swam in circles around each other touching their bodies together. I took a short video so you can see what I am talking about, notice their silver sides in the video.
This went on for a good 10 minutes, then their stripes went back to black.
It looked like spawning behavior to me, almost like my Zebra Danios when they spawned.
Has anyone else seen this with their SAEs?
First picture is normal color.
