Counteract driftwood`s affect on PH

it really depends on the type of driftwood you've got. some release more tannins than others, and some are better at lowering pH/GH/KH than others.

dont worry about bringing the pH back up to what it was. messing with the water chemistry even more after adding the driftwood will only cause more problems. you are better off either leaving it as it is, but watching it to make sure that nothing goes totally wrong, or adding carbon to the filter like Slappy said. carbon can get expensive though, because depending on the amount of tannins being released, you may need to replace it every two weeks or even more frequently.
