Couple loach questions

I would prefer to operate with sponge filters when keeping kuhlis. They can easily slip in intakes. A 20g can support 6-8 of these fish and must be provided with several thickets of plants for cover.:)

I think thats where mines ended up. Havnt seen him in days :( and I was just about to buy him friends too :(

With covering the tank, I'm still kinda heasitant because of heat (though I don't KNOW that I'll have a heat problem) and because my khulis haven't tried to go all the way up in the 'Pod. When they "dance" they do go most of the way, but they wouldn't bump the lights. Right now I've just got a cheapo light and hood on there, but there's a big area removed for the filter. Will this be all right?

When I was QTing my Kuhlis in a 20T I almost lost 2 of them to jumping. One jumped in between the hood and filter which was only a quarter inch gap, but fortunately I was in the room when it happened and heard it flapping around on a piece of paper. The other jumped up the filter return against the current and under the biowheel and was in the filter for 2 days before I realized what the splashing noise was that I kept hearing. When I moved them to the 55 I hot glued window screen material over all possible holes and haven't had a problem yet, but I certainly wouldn't leave the tank even partially uncovered.
