Cowfish

What kind of cowfish is this? Apparently the majority of cow/boxfish species stay quite small, however, the common ones get pretty big.

I dont know. He is yellow with a very light greenish on top. He is about the size of a quarter. He has the horns on front and back. Has some small white spots. I dont think thats ick because the spots are the same on both sides of his body. He seems very healthy. But I am scared after what everybody is saying. I am waiting for LFS to open now so I can call them. What is your openion?

Here's a good place to look to ID him/her: http://www.saltcorner.com/sections/zoo/boxfishes.htm It sounds like it maay be the "Spotted / Yellow / Cube Boxfish", so you might want to look at that one first.

Fish that get to 12" adult size and up generally don't do well long term in a tank that's only 12" wide. Just so you know, if you really want to keep him, but can't afford the tank, there's always the option f going with a (indoor) pond.
