CP terraium - Plants only

Interesting setup. I remember when I was in my teens my local home depot had venus fly traps I thought they were so cool so I got my mom to buy me one. Sadly it died pretty fast. Always liked them though.

ive got a 5g hex, the kind with the filter in the hood and stuff. i dont really want fish in it, id like to make it a reef, but i cant afford it. what would be a cool plant that i could possibly grow in it?

I would stick to Droseras (sundews)...easy and they stay small.

which are sundews? are they like uber-cool?

besides carny plants, are there any cool really different out there beautiful plants that i can get that would fit?

I totaly agree with Pappy on this. Droseras would be perfect for that tank. If it's the eclipse 5 hex, I would put a couple D. Filliformis in it. They get tall and not so wide. You could make a really cool set-up for them in there.

As far as more traditional plants, you could look into cacti or orchids. I'm not sure if orchids would get too tall for the 5G, but they're amazing plants.

It sounds like the adelae are doing well, Pappy! That's awesome!

Ok... seeing this thread again made me want to post some updates.

Here's the Drosera tank. I got one of the filliformis that I mentioned earlier... it's a great addition, I think. I also broke down and got a couple VFT's... turns out, Ger was right. They're just too cool to pass up.
