How many Celestial Pearl Danios could I have in a planted 10 gal? Would they be ok with a female Betta? I am getting a bit tired of my guppies (just sooo many babies!) so I thought maybe I could trade them in at my LFS.

You could go 3 males + 5-6 females. My female betta didn't bug my CPD at all, but she was only in there for a few days. Depends how aggressive your girl is.
CPD like lots of plants to feel secure - they also do well with other small fish as dithers (I have Endlers).

My Betta girl seems pretty mellow. She hunts the guppy babies, but leaves anything bigger than bite-size alone. The tank has lots of plants - guppy grass, java moss, java fern, anacharis, and a bit of red myrio.
