is it ok put crabs in with chinese algae eaters? will the crabs go after the cae? i'm talking about the little red or fiddler crabs. i have a 46 gallon tank.

If your crabs are fiddlers they are suited to brackish water. CAE's are fresh water critters, so the simple answer is "No they shouldn't be together".

they also need shallow areas to go to at will or they will drown. Like a community land water invironment.

man...i'm getting a little bored with what i have in the tank now so i was hoping i could get some crabs to liven things up. but i guess it's not a good idea.

I'd recommend a red claw crab, but most people haven't had luck with them in FW (mine is a few years old).

Also predatory, although slight overfeeding and a varied diet will lessen hunting behavior.
