I need some clarification. I've heard from several sources that snail are not ok with hermits. Other places say it's ok. I plan on getting the red legged hermits, and when the time comes, probably astrea snails, although turbo and trochus are a possibility. Comments pleeez. Thank you very much.

The snails are okay, as long as you make sure you provide a lot of alternate shells for the hermits. Imagine a teenager getting ready for a first date...Changing clothes 10 times, trying to find something that's the perfect fit, style etc... If the teen only has 3 outfits, they start pulling your clothes off to try on for size.
This is what hermits are like. Provoide them with a big selection, and snails are safer. You may lose a few snails even so, but it helps. If you see a snail picking through a pile of shells and not finding anything it likes...Go get it some more outfits.
