In most cases no but it depends on the Hermit crab. Which one(s) are you looking at

Here's my 5 cents cause I love my crabs.

Blue Legged Hermits - Will go after Snails for the extra comfort of a large shell. So stock xtras. Sometimes i'm not so sure if it's just for that reason, they may like a little meat in their diet. I have never seen a crab scoot that fast in my life.

Red Scarlet Hermit - Pretty peaceful for now, they keep to themselves. The only aggression i've seen from them was when a BLH tryed to jack him, he just stuck out his limbs as if pushing the BLH away. It was really neat. And they went on their seperate ways.

Prolly helps that my RSH crabs are quite larger than the BLH.

As for the fish, from either of those two kinds of crabs.. I really don't see it happening. Hermit kill fish.. naww

i was just looking for something to get rid of green, brown and purple algae. i was at the pet store and there was a huge aquatic hermit crab. it was about 3/4 the size of a baseball and it was red in color. do all h. crabs get this big?

the stores around here carry red and blue.

no most g maybe 2inchs big

the blue and red legs are safe with all fish as far as i know because they dont get big enough to do anything. They may eat some snails but only a few if any and i have had no problem with my bluelegs
