I think he means a rat? LOL!!! I have a male teddy bear hamster, and he is big. ( he is in a 10g tank, and will be 2 years old on December 24th.

LOL. I would believe it. My hamster used to bite through anything. It could have just been particle board, and in that case, I would say the hamster gnawed on it for sure!
