CRAP VACATION NEWT

crap im going on vcation for a week and i dont know how im gonna keep the newt alive. i cant take him with me. what should i do! also hes real small and doesnt like to eat his food
 
well thats bad. the only thing i can think of is catch some mosquitos, put them in ther, and cover it so they dont get out. one got in one of my tanks and soon ther were 20 flying around. or you could just catch some babies
 
oh my moms gonna get mad about that. is there anyother way?
 
i was able to feed him an endler fry but there are only a few left and i really dont want to part with them.
 
will it die if it doesn't eat for a week?
 
ok we are gonna be gone about 8 or 9 days rather than a week so should i just have my neighbor come buy and plop a fry in about halfway throught vacation?
 
Your newt should be fine without eating that long. Do any of the pet stores near you sell wingless fruit flies? I know Petsmart and Petco sell them. You could try feeding your newt them before you leave. As long as your tank has a top on it they'll stay inside it.
 
are nearest petsmart is 54 miles away and we are leaving in 2 days so we wont be able to go
