yeah it would be. the tank has little incandecant bulbs in it. its a 10 gal and the hood is made for just incandecants. with a 25watt max

ya, definatly toss the incandesants. get floresents before trying any cooling methods, and see how that works

ya, i never leave lights on when i leave anywhere. on the last vacation i want on i arranged mirrors so the plants in my salty would get light. but im not recomending that for the newt. is your house 76 degrees with air conditioning?
yes. and also i took the only flourecent tank bulb out of my other tank and put it in there but i need another but its a start for now so now ill need to get about 3 more. BTW get them at walmart instead of petsmart there 8 bucks cheaper!
you could send the newt to my house...it's always cold here. it's july and i still gotta turn the heat on at night...lol

They just say that the hood could only go to 25 watts so it won't overheat, you would be fine with 20 watts in each socket if you do flourescent.
ok. i just got back from vacation and, i look in the tank and now im really P.O.ed. hes still alive but he never ate and now hes just skin and bones. i dont know what to do for him im going to the petstore tommarrow and see if i can get fruitflys or meanworms. anything! but he wont eat the sinking pellets the floating pellets or the endler fry. omg i feel terrible
