i dont think my crawfish is getting his fair share of food, because whenever i drop a worm on the bottom, my mudminnows suck the whole thing right up.

so i was wondering what is a suitable food for crawfish that my fish won't eat?

i was thinking some kind of frozen meat.

would frozen chunks of tuna be good?

My blue p. alleni crays will eat just about anything. I feed them sinking catfish wafers, algae tabs, shrimp pellets, HBH crab and lobster bites, and Tetra Color Tropical Granules on a regular basis.

If you do feed meat, avoid fatty red meat (very bad for water quality). Stick with chicken and fish, and I would only feed your cray meat once every other week. Use algae wafers, sinking pellet foods, and blanched veggies for more frequent meals.

Your tank water will rapidly build up toxins, if bits of meat are left to rot. I've yet to see a crayfish that eats neatly. ;)

What kind of craw do you have?
Some are more Veg eaters than meat?

i have a devil crawfish that's about 2.5" long.

i dropped about a thumbnail sized chunk of frozen tuna in there last night and when i woke up this morning, half of it was gone, and when i got home from school it was all gone.

next time i'm at petco, i'm going to get some algae wafers beceause i think my suckers will enjoy those also.

Crayfish also love carrots and other veggies. I've found that carrots attract more crayfish into a trap than anything else I've tried.

You should fed them a mixture of veggies and meat.
