Crayfish compatability

What type of Crayfish? You can mix lots of different shrimp with the Dwarf Crayfish.

I don't currently have a crayfish. I was thinking about doing an invert tank with a crayfish of some kind, 2 or 3 different type of shrimp, and maybe some snails. Just need to figure out who all is compatible with what.

You can mix dwarf crayfish with dwarf shrimp. There are strains of shrimp that you will want to avoid keeping together. That is because they are color morphs of the same species, and keeping them together will 'ruin' their color after a few generations. There are so many possibilities that it would take too long to list them all. You should look at what is available, and how much money you have. Then go from their.

I've heard this, and I'm contemplating acquiring some blue dwarf crayfish. If you want to do 2 kinds of shrimp, you can look at a neocaridina variant (red cherry, blue pearl, etc.) and then a caridina type (babaulti green, tiger, etc.) and they shouldn't be able to interbreed.

Not sure if its correct or not but I found a chart on planetinvert that said cherries and blue pearl should not interbreed if kept together... thought it was strange and I double checked but its a big compatibility chart

Incorrect. Red Cherry and Blue Pearl are variants of neocaridina heteropoda. They are the same species, so not only can, but likely will interbreed. The result? They'll start looking more and more like the original color, which is brownish. I asked in a thread, and MsJinkzd, commonly believed to be the resident invert expert, said so, and I'll trust her judgement. Also, if it's the same chart I ran across, it says on there in small print that it's not 100% guaranteed to be reliable.

That's why I mentioned one type each of caridina and neocaridina shrimp as options; they're different species so should not be able to interbreed as a general rule. That said, we do have things like wholphins, ligers and grolar bears, so there is a chance, just much slimmer.
