Crayola Play Sand??

Anyone tried it? I've read on a few forums (including Monster Fish Keepers) and the results seem to be positive but I wanted AC advice before giving it a shot in a 10 gallon. If I get none, I'll set up a thread on it from start to hopefully positive finish. =)

You bring back memories when "black sand" comes up. In the late 1970's I got into the hobby of dredging, finally ended up with a Keene 8" dredge. Used in on rivers in Amador, Calaveras, Nevada and Tuolumne Counties. It was a blast and actually paid for the dredge and a few more bucks, in gold.

However, I ended up with buckets of "black sand" which even had a value ($2-$3 a pound back then (contains rare elements), and it is HEAVY.) It is obviously stable, since it has spent years, decades or longer tumbling around in rivers. A very high percentage of it is magnetic and can be picked up with a magnet ... you could remove it from you aquarium with a strong neodymium magnet!

Know any dredgers?

Regards,
JS
