Crazy fish!!!

my boyfriend came home from the lfs, and with him among other fish he bought cherry barbs we put thenm in the tank and relized that one was not like the others. We have no idea how this fish got in the bag and we had no idea if it is a cherry barb or some other fish. I am inclined to think it is not one. It is INSANE! It just goes around terrorizing every finsh in the tank including the king of the tank the black ghost knife who is about a foot long. This is the best picutre i could get of it as all it does is swim Very fast around the tank... I would like to know what it is. thank you

I agree with archer...and they are noots! They like to be in groups....they are great dither fish for many cichlids....
 
Looks like a giant danio. I inherited one and I have to admit, I don't like that fish at all. Very spastic and has hassled and bothered anything else I try to put in the tank. It reminds me of a gerbil I once had.
 
Giant Danio, like to be in groups of 6 to be calm, Schooling fish, would need 50G tank up for a shoal
 
Not a giant danio, beunos aires tetra. Can get really awesome coloration as they mature and the light strikes them the right way. Evil towards most tankmates (even bottom feeders as it will eat any kind of food... and fast), Danios and the larger tetras are probably the best tankmates for them and they would probably make great dither fish for larg - ish cichlids. by the way, there a schooling fish, so some of it's behavior could be caused by the lack of a group.
