Crazy Piranha Video!

I'd hate to tell you guys what goes on under the surface of the river or lake in your home town...

Nature is brutal and violent. These pirhana might not eat gold fish in the wild, but they would most certainly eat any types of fish they could in their native waters. Not to mention a baby bird or baby frog or anthing else they have an opprotunity to eat.

Dont humanize them, they are supposed to be violent predators.

my problem is that in the wild a fish has a chance to escape in the wild, in a small aquarium, such a fish stands no chance.

Well, I've never met anyone who fed their predators live food with the hopes that some of the feeders would escape.

you all saw the video, if your so against it why did you click the video labeled "piranha feeding". Have you seen them in the wild eating live huge fish, how they make themselves pass for a part of a school of pacus to full the others.....its nature people. With you "here we go" nonsense, here we go what that peope will bith at him? i hate that everyone here feels free to jump on anyone for going against their opinion, keep your mouths shut, he posted it he doesnt care what ya'll say or your opinion. Not everyone who is against the video watched it. I clearly read someone stating they hadn't watched it because the subject matter was against their taste. That's fine.

I agree that if it's something they don't want to watch, then they shouldn't. Watching something you know you're against just to get hyped up and start a riot is just as pointless as talking about what's wrong with politics and then not doing anything about it.

He, being corykid, posted this thread on a public forum. What that means is that regardless if he cares about the opinions of others, or what they'll say, he opened it up for public discussion. I don't think they should shut their mouths. So I don't agree with everyone, but that's expected. Try not to get so frustrated with opinions that differ from yours.... otherwise you'll start to sound like a dictator (j/k mostly).

i am going to breed guppies for my Ctenopoma acutirostre to eat, but they will be small enough that he can eat them in one gulp. i don't mind feeding fish to other fish, i just don't want to see the feeder fish torn appart and suffering. if its swallowed in one clean gulp, i don't mind.

That reminds me of a friend who loved reptiles, but couldn't stand to touch crickets, so I helped him come up with a method to powder his crickets with calcium and vitamins without ever feeling a feeler.

It's a little disturbing, but then again I've also seen what piranhas can do to large birds and even mammals that end up over the top of a large shoal, and I've seen that on nature shows on television. It's how nature works.

i have same opinion as most others, live feeders are ok as long as they are small enough to be eaten in 1 or 2 bites. It also serves not to mess up the water with left over debris as piranhas are very messy feeders.
