Today I went to my LFS to pick up some more live rock, as I was severely lacking in the live rock department. I put all the rock in and started keeping an eye on the tank for hitchhikers.

One rock, that looks rather pourous had a little nubby bit sticking out of a hole. I didn't think anything of it at first, until later, after I had turned the light out, it extended to a pull sized tentacle looking thing. I was bewildered. Then another tentacle came out of another hole. It wasn't an octopus, obviously, and I wasn't sure what else it could be. Finally, it came out and started roaming. Turns out I had a serpent star inside that rock. . .and boy is it creepy.

I did some reading, and it seems as though it shouldn't cause any problems in my tank, but anyone have any ideas on this one?

Serpent Stars arent bad for the tank at all as far as I know. They are actually beneficial becuase they scavange the tank for leftover food. Nice hitchhiker :dance
