Critique my rockwork

As long as the piles are stable and rocks won't slide you should be fine, I've never used any silicone for my rock piles and I've had different types of rock with no problems. When setting them up I just rock them back and forth a little making sure they won't slide.

i like it!

Thanks again. ibr3ak, that's what I did here, just stacked and rocked until they felt solid. I'll rearrange with both types mixed and repost.

DrgRcr - I usually have my daugheter jump up and down in front of the tank whenever I rearrange my rock work. I don't use silicone, and if it passes the test, it is good to go. BTW, really nice tank. Can't wait to see the rework.

LOL, good idea. I'm sure my son can help with that:thumbsup:! Thank you

See i don't think its high enough to be alarmed if one falls it doesn't have to far to fall so to say.. You do what you like its your hobby my friend but you asked and i will push my 02. cents your way i would keep the large pile to the right and just keep going from end to end that would rock out buddy.. Sweet tank..

whered you get your rocks at? did you pickem up or did you actually buy them?

All this is what I did to create the rockwork of my 55gal Mbuna tank. BTW, I like a lot the 2 uneven rock piles kind of setup.

I think mixing the different kinds of rock a bit more would bring the whole set up together. I do like the idea of two piles.

I don't silicone my rocks since I like to change my rock work a lot :) Also silicone takes a few days to set up and I can only imagine what my mbuna would be like without the rocks
