Crowntail betta question

Hey guys i recently saw a crowntail betta online and went nuts. Ive never seen a more beutiful freshwater fish. Anyway i went online and looked around but i couldnt find anyone who sold them and if they did they were like $80. So does anyone out there no were i can buy these online?

Ask around at your LFS, and check for a local breeder. My LFS has recently started carrying them, since they found a local breeder. Aquabid typiccally had lots for sale, but you'll pay shipping, can be pricey!

go to aquabid.com for a wide variety of colors and prices. It is kinda like ebay for fish. Watch out for crazy shipping though

wow thats crazy. iv never herd of a betta costing that much especially for a betta. at my lfs they have a huge betta selection the most exspensive ones are the super platinum betta ther 20$ crown tails are only 5 bucks. i cant belive someone would try to sell a betta for 80$ thats just crazy

They sell them for genetics and quality.
I've seen some for WELL over 80$.
IMO, some are worth the price.
When you take into consideration the work it takes to raise those betta fry, its VERY worth it.

i just bought 2 crown tail betta TODAY! i love them. i have them in a duel container. i got them for at my boyfriends house so i can have some fish action there. they were each only 5 dollars each.

i have actually spent 52.99 on my fantail betta from the LFS, but my LFS doesnt know anything about betta types so they sell them all for different prices...

WOW $5.00 for a crowntail would be the best thing that ever happend to me. I have about 7 LFS so i will start makin calls. Thanks guys.

Bettas are expensive fish, veiltails are the kind you can find in any lfs, petsmart, petco, etc.
veiltails are produce by the thousands in Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam
The halfmoon (HM), crowntail (CT) and double tail (DT) lines are expensive. It is almost impossible to find any of those cheaper than 20.00$ and I have seen prices going up till 325.00$!! which it is insane for a 2 years life span fish.

I have 10 females, HMs, CTs, PKs and 8 males HMs, SDs (super delta), PKs
and I got most of them from an IBC (International Betta Congress) auction and from a friend of mine who is a breeder. This summer I am spawning some of them
